Angkor

A time of greatness

The Angkor period is generally considered as a time of greatness in Cambodia.

Jayarvarman II is considered by most as the first Khmer king. He reined from 802 to 850. Jayarvarman VIII is generally seen as the last great Khmer King. He reined from 1243 to 1295.

The Khmer of Angkor left us some of the most magnificent buildings and structures mankind has ever seen. Angkor Wat being the most famous of them all.

Many of these great buildings and structures can be found around the city of Siem Reap.
